Frequently asked questions

Is this a dating app?

No. It's Just A Dance is built exclusively for finding a dance partner at a venue. There are no photos, no messaging, and no persistent connections. When the night ends, everything disappears.

Why can't I see any other dancers?

A few possible reasons: you may not be checked into a venue, there may be no other active dancers at your venue right now, or your gender preference filter may mean there are no compatible dancers checked in. Try pulling down to refresh the browse screen.

My venue isn't in the list — what do I do?

Tap "My venue isn't here" on the check-in screen to submit a venue suggestion. We review suggestions regularly and add new venues quickly. You can also opt in to be notified when your venue is added.

The app isn't detecting my venue automatically.

Make sure location access is set to "While Using" in your iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → It's Just A Dance. You need to be within approximately 100 meters of the venue entrance for auto-detection to work.

I matched with someone but can't find them.

Look for their color and shape — both are shown on the match screen. Your own color and shape are shown at the bottom of the Active Find screen so they can find you too. If you can't locate each other, tap "Maybe next time" and try again later.

How do I cancel my It's Just A Dance+ subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. Go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone, find It's Just A Dance+, and tap Cancel Subscription. You'll retain access until the end of the current billing period.

How do I restore my subscription on a new device?

Open the app, go to your Profile tab, tap the subscription row, and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used when you originally subscribed.

How do I delete my account?

Email support@itsjustadance.com with the subject "Delete my account" and we'll permanently delete your account and associated data within 30 days.

I had a bad experience with another dancer. What can I do?

Use the post-dance rating to record your experience honestly. Ratings are permanently tied to accounts and cannot be escaped by changing a username. If you feel unsafe, please contact venue staff. For serious incidents, email support@itsjustadance.com.

I'm a venue owner. How do I get my venue on the app?

Email us at hello@itsjustadance.com with your venue name, address, and the nights you host dancing. Venue partnerships are $50/year at launch pricing.
